Overview of Foreign Trade Zone Benefits

 

Want to pay fewer taxes?  A foreign-trade zone may be the way.  FTZs are secured areas located in or near U.S. Customs ports of entry, but legally considered to be outside the Customs territory. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency is responsible for ensuring the security of cargo shipped into the United States.  Learn about programs that have been implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection  to strike a balance between security and commerce.

CE-Marking Workshop (2 hour session)

Manufacturers are responsible for ensuring that the products they place in the European market meet all relevant regulations and for most products sold in the EU, the use of CE Marking and a Declaration of Conformity are mandatory.  The CE mark certifies that a product has met EU consumer safety, health or environmental requirements as outlined in the European Directive. In all, there are about 25 directives that require CE Marking such as toy safety, machinery, low-voltage equipment, terminal equipment, and electromagnetic compatibility.

This in-depth session will explore the requirements and process of obtaining a CE mark.

CB Scheme - Your Global Passport

 

The CB Scheme is an international system for acceptance of test reports dealing with the safety of electrical and electronic products. The CB Scheme is based on the use of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.
